BECause We Care
The BEC Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Bandera Electric Cooperative. BEC has a long history of supporting the community through volunteerism and financial support to nonprofit organizations throughout our seven-county service area. Since 2008, BEC has provided more than a quarter million dollars in donations to nonprofit organizations in our community.
The mission of the BEC Foundation is to support qualifying organizations in its service area through charitable contributions with a focus on education, safety and overall concern for community.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, The BEC Foundation is here to help our community. Our primary areas of support include:
- Health initiatives
- Education and youth programs
- Social services projects
- Community services projects
With a legacy of giving in the Texas Hill Country, the BEC Foundation has an excellent network of nonprofit organizations that serve our communities.
The Foundation is financially supported in part by BEC. However, the community is also invited contribute to the Foundation. There are several ways to give to the BEC Foundation. Your contributions are tax deductible with the peace of mind knowing that your donation stays in the BEC service area to help the underprivileged and key volunteer services.

The BEC Foundation is supported by BEC and managed by its employees and a BEC board of director. This keeps overhead costs low and means more of your contribution goes back to help our community.

BEC membership gives you access to other grants made available by other organizations such as LCRA, TRC and DSIRE which provide contributions to fire departments, emergency medical services, school districts, libraries, civic groups, local governments nonprofit organizations and more. Click here
