BEC 82nd Annual Meeting a Success

Bandera Electric Cooperative held its 82nd Annual Meeting of the Membership virtually on Saturday, August 14. Nearly 400 members attended, with more than 45% being first-time attendees.
 
The regular business of the meeting was conducted, including reading the director election results for directors from districts four, five and six. Jeremy Diller was re-elected to District 4, Interim District 5 Director Annegreth Niemann was elected to a full term and Richard "Dick" Earnest was re-elected to District 6.
 
In presentations to the membership, BEC CEO Bill Hetherington highlighted BEC’s vision of Reimagining Rural America, and BEC Board Vice Chairman Jeremy Diller presented a video introducing the board of directors.
 
More than $10,000 in prizes and gift cards were distributed including the grand prize, a John Deere Zero-Turn Mower valued at more than $6,500. Member, Theresa Helbert from Bandera, won the grand prize donated by James Power Line Construction, DAS Underground Utilities, Pannell Tree Service, Schneider Engineering, Electricom Inc., K&S Electric and DAS Fiber.
 
Of the more than 300 members surveyed after the meeting, 96% of members thought the meeting was good to excellent, and 93% thought the meeting format was good to very good.
