Dick Earnest was appointed to the board in May 2013.
Mr. Earnest retired from Central Power & Light Co. (now American Electric Power) after 35 years of service. Most of his career at CP&L was in the marketing and customer service groups. He managed representatives in 8 locations from Abilene to Brownsville. He reported to CP&L in Corpus Christi as well as Central and Southwest Services in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and was in management for over 25 years.
Mr. Earnest served his country in the Army Security Agency for 3 years, mostly in Germany. He graduated from McAllen High School and attended UT Pan Am (now UTRGV). He has completed numerous management courses at various universities during his career and has earned the Credentialed Cooperative Director Certificate, Board Leadership Certificate, as well as NRECA's Gold Status.
He formed and managed a service company for ten years and serves as a board member/president of Concan Water Supply Corp., Frio Comanche Crossing HOA, and Uvalde County Underground Water Conservation District. He has served on many volunteer boards and nonprofit organizations in his career and retired after 23 years with the Concan Volunteer Fire Department.
