The Finalists
Save Medina Lake
Dedicated to the preservation and sustainability of Medina Lake, this organization works to ensure responsible water management and environmental conservation. By partnering with local officials and advocating for fair water access, Save Medina Lake aims to protect this vital resource for future generations. The $5,000 grant would support public outreach, research, and education efforts to drive real change in water conservation.
Hill Country Mission for Health
Providing free healthcare to uninsured individuals in Kendall County and surrounding areas, Hill Country Mission for Health focuses on primary care, chronic disease management, and health education. With a commitment to improving community wellness, they offer essential services such as diabetes management, weight loss programs, and mental health support. The grant funding would help expand medical services and resources, ensuring that more individuals receive the care they need.
Out Of The Way Community Corp.
This organization exists to fill the gaps of need in the community. From feeding over 250 children weekly to operating a 24/7 Free Store stocked with food and clothing, Out Of The Way Community Corp. works to provide relief and support to families facing hardship. The $5,000 grant would help improve operations, stock food and clothing shelves, and expand their ability to serve even more individuals in need.
Keep It Real Beautiful
Focused on preserving the beauty of Real County, Keep It Real Beautiful leads initiatives such as litter removal, dark sky preservation, river cleanups, and recycling programs. They manage the Real County Recycling Center and are expanding business cardboard pick-up services to promote sustainability. The grant would support these environmental efforts, including improving their new drop-off location in Leakey and expanding recycling services.
Don’t Make Waste Bandera
Committed to reducing waste and fostering environmental stewardship in Bandera County, Don’t Make Waste Bandera organizes recycling efforts, roadside cleanups, and assistance for disabled elderly residents. Their work promotes responsible waste management and creates a cleaner, more welcoming community. The $5,000 grant would help expand their programs, increase recycling accessibility, and support community cleanup efforts.
