Your bedroom is more than your body’s recharge zone. It’s also where you plug in your personal electronics to power up.
Follow these guidelines to help keep your recharge zone safe.
- Always turn off lamps when you leave the room for long periods.
- Replace lamps or other devices that have cracked or damaged cords.
- Use light bulbs with the appropriate wattage for the light fixture.
- Be sure to connect devices to the proper charger and never charge them on a bed or under a pillow.
- Unplug battery chargers and power adapters when they’re not in use.
- Tighten the screws on your ceiling fan to eliminate wobbling.
- Check batteries on smoke detectors at least every six months.
- While a cool room is conducive to good sleep, before installing a portable air conditioner, make sure the circuit and outlet can safely bear the load.
