Bandera Electric Cooperative proudly recognized the dedication and service of its linemen during a special celebration luncheon in honor of National Lineman Appreciation Day, highlighting the essential role the crews play in keeping the lights on for the community.
Observed annually on April 18, National Lineman Appreciation Day shines a spotlight on the men and women who work in demanding and often dangerous conditions to maintain reliable electric service. From severe weather to long hours in the field, BEC linemen are on the front lines, ensuring members have the power they depend on every day.
To mark the occasion, BEC hosted a celebratory luncheon, where its cook team prepared a fajita meal for linemen, board members and co-op staff. The linemen were also presented with appreciation gift boxes filled with goodies as a token of gratitude for their continued hard work and commitment.
Highlights of the event included remarks from the board of directors and leadership team, as well as the presentation of an official proclamation issued by Denise Griffin, Mayor of the City of Bandera, formally designating April 18 as Lineman Appreciation Day. The proclamation recognizes the critical contributions linemen make to the safety, reliability, and well-being of the community.
BEC also extended special thanks to Altec for its generous support in helping provide the meal for the crews and co-op team.
As the cooperative continues its mission to serve members across the region, board members and leadership emphasized their pride in the linemen who work tirelessly behind the scenes.
