Our power system is operating normally, and no Public Safety Power Shutoff is planned at this time. BEC crews are conducting enhanced patrols on any line blinks to help ensure system safety and reliability.
Fire danger will be elevated this weekend, so we urge everyone to stay prepared, avoid outdoor burning, and report any signs of fire immediately.
Safety Tips During a Red Flag Warning and Burn Ban
General Fire Safety

Do not burn outdoors and follow all local burn ban restrictions.

Avoid activities that can create sparks, such as welding or grinding metal.

Do not park vehicles on dry grass, as hot exhaust systems can ignite vegetation.

Properly dispose of cigarettes and never toss smoking materials on the ground.
Electrical Safety During Red Flag Conditions

Stay far away from downed or low-hanging power lines and always assume they are energized, as they can ignite nearby vegetation.

Report sparking, arcing, or damaged power lines immediately, especially during high wind events.

Avoid using outdoor electrical equipment near dry grass or brush that could be ignited by heat or sparks.
