- Set your thermostat to maintain a consistent indoor temperature
- Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warmer air to circulate around plumbing
- Bring pets indoors and provide warm shelter for animals
- Secure outdoor items (tools, patio furniture, trash cans) in case of high winds
3) Stock Up on Essentials
Avoid last-minute trips if roads become icy or travel is discouraged. Plan for several days and check:
- Groceries and ready-to-eat foods
- Drinking water
- Prescription refills and basic medical supplies
