Owners Lauryn and Owen Moore have turned it into a local favorite—not just for their delicious offerings, but for the comfortable, inviting space they’ve created with the help of Bandera Electric Cooperative.
When the Moores decided it was time to upgrade their space, they turned to BEC’s Energy Saver Program. “We knew our building needed work, especially in the summer months. It just wasn’t as comfortable as we wanted it to be—for us or our customers,” Lauryn said. With guidance from one of their vendors, the couple discovered the Energy Saver Program and its on-bill financing option, which allowed them to tackle renovations without breaking the bank.
Thanks to the program, The Dough Joe installed three new AC units, added spray insulation, and replaced outdated ductwork. The results? A noticeably cooler, more pleasant space—and an increase in business. “We’ve seen about a 12% increase in customers since installing the new systems,” Lauryn said. “It’s our first summer with the renovations in place, and we’re excited to see how much more comfortable it will be.”
