The BEC Foundation has awarded a $10,000 community grant to the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic, helping support the clinic’s mission of providing accessible healthcare services to low-income and medically underserved residents of Bandera County.
The grant reflects the BEC Foundation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the quality of life in the communities served by Bandera Electric Cooperative. Through charitable giving and community investment, the Foundation supports organizations and programs that address critical local needs, including health care, education, economic development, and community well-being.
“The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic provides an essential service for our community,” said a BEC Board Chair, Tracey Robledo. “Access to quality healthcare is fundamental to a thriving community, and we are proud to support an organization that restores health and hope for so many families in Bandera County.”
Founded in 2008, the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is the only nonprofit charitable healthcare provider in Bandera County dedicated to serving qualifying low-income and uninsured residents ages 12 and older. The clinic offers primary and preventive medical care, behavioral health services, prescription assistance, health education programs, and wellness initiatives designed to improve long-term health outcomes. Over the years, the clinic has provided millions of dollars in healthcare services to thousands of local residents.
Located on the Village of Hope campus in Bandera, the clinic serves as a vital healthcare safety net for individuals and families who might otherwise go without medical care. In addition to treating illness and injury, the clinic focuses on preventive care, chronic disease management, mental health services, and health education programs that promote healthier lifestyles.
The BEC Foundation was established to enhance the quality of life throughout the cooperative’s service area by supporting nonprofit organizations and community initiatives that make a lasting impact. Funded through charitable contributions and community partnerships, the Foundation seeks to embody the cooperative principle of Concern for Community by investing in programs that address local needs and create meaningful opportunities for residents.
The $10,000 grant will help the Arthur Nagel Community Clinic continue delivering compassionate, high-quality healthcare services and expand its ability to serve those who depend on its programs.
As both organizations continue their work to improve lives across the Texas Hill Country, the grant represents a shared commitment to building a healthier, stronger, and more resilient community.
