Bandera, Texas — Bandera Electric Cooperative crews are working to restore power to hundreds of members following widespread flooding across the area Friday morning.
As of noon, about 655 members are without electricity, primarily in the Turtle Creek and Cypress Creek areas. Floodwaters and unsafe road conditions are preventing crews from reaching several outage locations. Power restoration is ongoing in areas where access is safe.
“The safety of our crews and members is our top priority,” said Shane Schmidt, Chief Operations Officer at Bandera Electric Cooperative. “We know this isn’t how anyone planned to spend their Fourth of July. While we can’t control the weather, we can promise that our team is ready to restore power the moment it’s safe to move in.”
Crews have already restored power in several areas and will continue working throughout the day. Full damage assessments in flood-affected areas will begin once conditions improve.
