Bandera, TX — Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) is closely monitoring an approaching winter weather system that may bring freezing temperatures and winter precipitation to the area. BEC crews and personnel are taking proactive steps to prepare for potential impact and are ready to respond if needed.
In advance of the storm, BEC has been conducting cold-weather readiness activities, including inspecting critical equipment, reviewing staffing and response plans, and ensuring crews and resources are positioned to respond safely and efficiently. The cooperative is also coordinating with local emergency management partners as forecasts continue to evolve.

BEC urges members to prepare for potential winter conditions by:
- Checking generators and backup power sources
- Ensuring batteries and mobile devices are fully charged
- Planning for possible power interruptions
- Practicing generator, heater, and fire safety

BEC also reminds the public to always stay away from downed power lines and assume they are energized. Any outages or hazardous conditions should be reported immediately to BEC at (866) 226-3372.
BEC will continue to monitor weather conditions and provide updates as necessary. In storm conditions, we may not automatically see all outages.
