VoIP Phone FAQs

Are phones installed at the same time as the fiber?

If you are requesting a new number, phone service will be installed same day.

The timeline to install a ported number is dictated by the losing phone provider. This process can take anywhere from 24 hours to 21 days. It is important to submit your LOA document accurately and promptly to not delay your phone service any further than necessary. If you provide a current bill (within the last 30 days) from your losing provider, this can help expedite the process. Please do not cancel your phone service with your losing provider until after the port is complete.

How do I connect to the new phone service?

There is a phone port on the back of the modem that was installed to provide your internet service. All that is required is to plug your phone into the grey port on the back labeled PHONE 1. If placement of the modemr or the existing phones will not work for the above mentioned scenario, there are additional options.

A technician can come out and connect to the existing wiring. Rewiring the house for additional phone jacks may include additional charges. It is our recommendation to try and plug the phone directly into the modem to ensure the best voice quality and performance.
