BEC members continue to experience localized intermittent outages that are due to the ice and trees on power lines. Crews are responding quickly and safely to any reports of downed power lines and outages. Since 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, approximately 3,674 meters have been restored.

Please check the BEC Map for our most up-to-date information regarding outages. If you are experiencing a power outage lasting more than one hour and you have not already reported it, please report it by calling 866-226-3372 option 3, via the myBEC mobile app or by using the myBEC website login. Please provide your meter number, gate combination, and other pertinent information to restore your service.

“First and foremost, BEC is concerned about member and employee safety,” said Bill Hetherington, BEC chief executive officer. “We ask that you watch for and report any downed or low hanging power lines, and if you see a downed power line, do not touch it. Remember, high-voltage overhead lines are not insulated.”

Ice accumulations can cause downed wires; please remember not to approach them and treat them as if they are live. Call BEC at 866.226.3372 or law enforcement officials immediately if you see a downed power line. For more information, please visit BanderaElectric.com or follow us on social media.
