“We are pleased to welcome Mr. Aguirre to Bandera Electric Cooperative’s board,” said Board Chairman Michael Edwards. “We anticipate that his skills and experience will be a great asset.”

Aguirre has had a varied business career in asset management, project management, organizational development, event leadership, and strategic planning. He also held positions, often in a fiduciary capacity, in a range of enterprises including oil and gas exploration and production, ranching and farming, regional shopping mall management, financial investments, and trust and foundation management.

“I feel honored to have been selected to serve our community through this vital utility,” said Aguirre. “BEC has been a model of efficiency and customer service. I look forward to working, learning and being a part of a team of people wonderfully focused on the future for the benefit of our community and members.”

Aguirre and his wife Betsy have been BEC members since 1983. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from St. Mary’s University and a Doctor of Humane Letters degree, honoris causa, from the Logos International University for his life’s work in education reform.
