BEC members stay strong as the area enters the third night of freezing temperatures. Since 5:00 pm on Tuesday, January 31, Bandera Electric Cooperative has restored approximately 9,342 outages. Crews will continue to work through the night to restore power and respond quickly and safely to any reports of downed power lines or additional outages. As of 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 2, 2023, BEC had 1,429 meters without power throughout its service territory.

“I can assure you that the dedicated employees of BEC are working around-the-clock to provide support for our members during this event,” said John Rush, BEC Director of Electric Operations. “We want to thank our entire membership for their understanding and patience during this time.”

If you are experiencing a power outage lasting more than one hour and you have not already reported it, please report it by calling 866-226-3372 option 3, via the myBEC mobile app or by using the myBEC website login. Please provide your meter number, gate combination, and other pertinent information to restore your service. For the most up-to-date information regarding outages check the BEC Map.

The leading cause of outages are ice accumulation on power lines and tree limbs. If you encounter a downed line, please remember not to approach them, and treat them as if they are live. Call BEC at 866.226.3372 or law enforcement officials immediately if you see a downed power line. For more information, please visit BanderaElectric.com or follow us on social media.
