BEC Launches New Energy Efficiency Rebates

On October 15, Bandera Electric Cooperative announced its new rebate program to encourage energy efficiency and cost savings in its service territory. Rebates are available for qualified all-electric vehicle purchases and BEC installed solar systems.
“Promoting the adoption of renewable energy is important to BEC,” said Justin McKenzie, manager of Energy Services. “It not only benefits the individual member, but also reduces the amount of power BEC purchases, keeping rates low for all members.”
Solar rebates vary based on the size of the system, and range between $1,000-$2,000. Solar systems must be installed by December 31. A $1,000 rebate is available for qualified all-electric vehicles purchased by December 31. Limited quantities of rebates are available and are granted on a first come, first served basis.
Solar systems installed by December 31 are also eligible for the federal investment tax credit (ITC), also known as the solar tax credit. The ITC allows for a deduction of 26% of the cost of installing a solar system from your federal taxes.
