Bandera Electric Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce the Silver Sage Community Center in Bandera as the winner of the 2021 Members’ Choice Contest.

On Tuesday, April 13, BEC Foundation Board Chairman Toba Wright and BEC Foundation Board Secretary Lauren Salazar presented Silver Sage CEO Art Crawford with a check for $5,000.

“I was surprised because all the other organizations were so worthy,” said Crawford. “A giant thank you to BEC and all the members that took their time to vote.”

Crawford said they plan to use the money to expand services to the Lake Medina Shores area of Bandera County.

“We realized during the aftermath of the winter storm how much more needs to be done in that part of the county,” said Crawford. “We will bring food distributions there soon, and our goal is to build a small facility in the area so we will have a permanent and visible presence for the residents of the community.”

The Silver Sage Community Center offers services to senior citizens in Bandera County, including Meals on Wheels. For more information on the BEC Foundation or to make a contribution, please visit BanderaElectric.com/Foundation.
