On Monday, November 21, Bandera Electric Cooperative donated $1,000 to The Salvation Army Angel Tree in Kerrville, Texas. The organization is helping provide Christmas gifts to over 500 children this holiday season.

Each year, children’s names decorate a Christmas tree, where they wait until a community member adopts them. Once adopted, the participant purchases a Christmas gift for the selected child and delivers it to The Salvation Army Kroc Center to be picked up by the parents shortly before Christmas. Unfortunately, not every angel will be adopted.

“Every child should wake up Christmas morning to a gift under the tree,” said Major Missy Romack.

Major Romack, the Commanding officer at the Kroc Center, along with a few of her volunteer elves, will use the monetary donations to purchase gifts for the children who did not get adopted from the Angel Tree to ensure every child has a present to open on Christmas morning.

“Thank you to BEC for partnering with us,” said Major Romack. “It’s a blessing to see the community come together to meet the needs of our community.”

BEC happily partners with nonprofit organizations to bring the spirit of Christmas to community members in need.
