In 2020, Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) took a significant step towards enhancing energy efficiency by participating in the USDA’s Rural Energy Savings Program (RESP). This initiative offers low-cost financing solutions for BEC members to invest in home energy upgrades, including energy-efficient HVAC systems, water heaters, home insulation, solar panels, and battery storage. Apolloware serves as a USDA-approved measurement and verification system, ensuring alignment with RESP requirements and maximizing benefits for our members.
Building on this success, BEC launched Apolloware Saver in 2024 to support other rural cooperatives in leveraging RESP. This program extends the opportunity for rural communities nationwide to improve energy usage and reduce costs.
