Empowering Energy Awareness & Control
Bridging the Gap Between Consumers
& Utilities for a Smarter Energy Future
At Apolloware, we believe that energy consumers deserve transparency, control, and the tools to make smarter energy decisions. In a world where energy landscapes are rapidly evolving—with the rise of renewables, distributed energy resources (DERs), and smart home technologies—most consumers remain in the dark about their own energy usage. Our mission is to bridge this gap, providing real-time insights that enable homeowners and utilities to work together toward a more efficient, resilient energy future.
Our Journey: A Timeline of Innovation
Apolloware has grown from a cooperative-driven initiative into an enterprise-grade energy management platform with real-time data capabilities. Here’s how we got here:
2016
The first prototype of Apolloware is installed at BEC member locations, providing early energy insights.
2017
Apolloware expands to include real-time metering and a mobile app, giving consumers visibility into their energy use for the first time.
2018
BEC scales Apolloware across member locations, validating its effectiveness and consumer impact.
2020
The Apolloware Saver solution was introduced to all BEC members as the foundation of its Energy Saver Program.
2024
Apolloware qualifies for ERCOT’s Aggregated Distributed Energy Resource (ADER) pilot project, making it one of the only open-access platforms capable of supporting multiple DER device types and OEMs.
2025 & Beyond
With a commercial-ready Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) and an expanding network of utility partners, Apolloware is poised to scale, enabling smarter energy use at both consumer and grid levels.
Our Vision for the Future
As energy demands rise and the need for smarter energy management grows, Apolloware is committed to being at the forefront of the home energy revolution. With rising consumer expectations, increasing renewable adoption, and an evolving utility landscape, we’re building the tools to help households take control of their energy while enabling utilities to operate more efficiently and sustainably.
Apolloware FAQs
Apolloware is the future of energy management. It gives you real-time insights into how your appliances, solar panels, battery storage, and EV chargers are using energy—right from a secure, cloud-based dashboard and mobile app. Wherever you are, you can see exactly what's happening with your energy use.
Apolloware runs on a cloud-based platform and uses the Apolloware Electronic Device (AED), installed in your home’s electrical panel. The AED monitors large electric loads like air conditioners, water heaters, furnaces, and pool pumps, as well as your solar system, batteries, and EV chargers—giving you a complete view of your home energy system.
Knowledge is power—and in this case, it’s also savings. With Apolloware, you can make smarter energy decisions. On a time-of-use rate plan? Pre-cool your house in the morning or shift energy-heavy activities to lower-cost hours. You’ll see the impact instantly, both in kilowatt hours and dollars.
A kilowatt-hour (kWh) is a way to measure how much electricity you use. If you run something like a microwave or hair dryer for about an hour, that’s around 1 kWh. It helps you understand how much energy your home is using or saving.
Not at all. Apolloware is designed for everyone—with intuitive dashboards, live views, and simple graphs that show your energy usage in both kWh (Kilowatt Hours) and dollars. And if you ever need help, our support team is just an email away.
BEC offers several options to help members reduce energy use—most of which include getting Apolloware. Contact our Energy Services team to learn what’s available for you.
No worries—just click “Forgot Password” on the login page or mobile app. If that doesn’t work, reach out to our support team and we’ll get you logged in quickly.
When Apolloware is installed, we focus on monitoring the large, controllable loads in your home—like air conditioners or water heaters. Everything else that isn't individually tracked gets grouped into the “Others” category.
It’s common for “Others” to be a large category—it includes all the smaller appliances, devices, and systems running in your home. However, it could also mean something is using more energy than expected.
