Bandera Electric Cooperative has been made aware of a recent phone scam targeting our members.
A member recently received a text from someone falsely claiming to represent BEC. The text stated the member owed $500 and threatened to disconnect their electric service if payment was not made immediately.
Please remember: BEC will never threaten to disconnect your service in this manner or demand immediate payment over the phone.
If you receive a suspicious text or call like this or anything similar:
❌ Do not provide any personal, banking, or payment information.
📞 Hang up immediately.
