HVAC Tune - Up Rebate Heat Pump Rebate Programmable Thermostat Rebate

2013 Energy Efficiency Program Requirements

  • Service/ Installations must be done in 2013.
  • Credits will be issued to Members account within 30 days of receiving rebate form.
  • Only existing single family and multifamily homes are eligible for the program.
  • Window units are not eligible for incentives.
  • Rebate forms must be submitted by January  31st, 2014 for 2013 program.  
  • All installations are subject to inspection by BEC.
  • BEC must have a copy of HVAC contractors license on file. Click here to view BEC listed contractors.
Requirements and Incentives 
Incentive: $50 credit on member's bill. (Limit 1 rebate per member)
Service must be performed by a qualified licensed service professional
Tune up must include:
  • Units must be all electric
  • Checking and correcting the units refrigerant pressure and tubing
  • Checking and adjusting belt tension
  • Cleaning and lubricating the indoor blower unit.
  • Replacing filters
  • Cleaning inside the “A” coil
  • Check thermostat, wiring and other electrical parts
  • HVAC system must be a residential size system which is defined for this program as 1.0-5.0 nominal tons.
Contractor will sign and complete contractor's section.  Submit form and receipt to BEC. A current copy of the contractor's license must be included or on file with BEC.

Heat Pump Rebate
 Requirements and Incentives

Incentive: $200 credit on member's bill. (Limit 2 rebates per member)

  •  Replacement units for existing residential homes only.
  •  UNIT SHALL BE AN ALL ELECTRIC HEAT PUMP SYSTEM
  •  Must be a current BEC member.
  •  Unit receiving a rebate shall be served by BEC
  •  HVAC efficiency rating: 15 SEER minimum.
  •  Must submit completed rebate form and AHRI certificate
  • HVAC equipment specifications must meet or exceed minimum program requirements and be rated on the AHRI (The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute) website.
  • System shall be a NEW matching system certified by AHRI. Both condensing unit and air/handler shall be replaced.
  • HVAC system must be a residential size system which is defined for this program as 1.0-5.0 nominal tons.
  •  Limit of 2 rebates per member
Contractor will sign and complete contractor's section.  Submit form and AHRI certificate to BEC.  A current copy of the contractor's license must be included or on file with BEC.
 
The HVAC contractor is responsible for sizing units for optimal performance. BEC does not assume liability for work completed by a BEC listed contractor.
