Radiant Barrier Marketing Material NOT from BEC
Friday, Aug 01, 2008 3:34pm BEC has received a couple of calls from members in the Boerne area who recently received “an invitation” to a free meal at the Hungry Horse restaurant in Boerne. According to the marketing piece, those who come to the meal will be treated to a sales pitch for a product that can save up to 50% of the cost of their electric bill. The name of the company sending the “invitation” is National Energy Saving Association, Inc., 103 Spring Street, P.O. Box 338, Fulton, MS, 38843, 1-800-357-3317. A BEC employee called a number one of our members shared with us that was listed on the invitation. It was an answering service and the employee asked that someone with National Energy Saving Association call him. Garnett Monroe with the company called him back. He said they have been in business for about a year and a half. They sell a radiant barrier product he said was Energy Star rated. The customer can install it themselves or they will come and install it. See more on radiant barriers at Energy Star. I talked with one member who told me an elderly neighbor thought the note was from BEC – he correctly told his neighbor it was not. BEC DOES NOT endorse this company or its product. We do know that radiant barriers are legitimate, but we know nothing about this company or its product. |
