Board Approves New District Boundaries
Thursday, Aug 16, 2007 2:28pm

During their August 15, 2007 regular board meeting, the Board of Directors of Bandera Electric Cooperative voted to amend the boundaries of BEC’s nine voting districts. The boundaries of the various districts were changed to reduce the disparity between the number of members represented by BEC’s nine directors.

The board considered the number of members in each district, community boundaries, commonality of interests, area demographics and population density during this process. The number of districts remains the same and the directors representing each district are unchanged; however, some members will be represented by a different director than in the past.

Those members who are affected by these boundary changes will soon receive a letter with contact information for the director now representing them. See a map with the new districts. Also, watch this web site for more information.
