Annual Meeting of Membership Huge Success
Sunday, May 13, 2007 2:15pm
The BEC annual meeting of the membership was held Saturday, May 12 at the Bandera Middle School. About 350 Hill Country folks attended, including 234 members who registered. It was a record attendance.

The Youth Tour winners were announced and recognized.  The winners are: Kayla McCaleb, Rosalies Bomer, Erikk Hood (all attend Utopia High School) and Katie Wolters who attends Boerne High School.

One of the highlights of the meeting was a very informative video that was shown. That video will be made available on this web site in the future. There were 41 door prizes given away at the event.  Anita McMinn who lives near the headwaters of the Medina river won the grand prize, a brand-new riding lawn mower.

Also noteworthy, was Corina Whitus who won the handmade quilt, made available by Margaret Callahan of Bandera. The quilt was a windmill pattern to recognize the importance of renewable energy. The material was red, white and blue in honor of our troops. Mrs. Whitus was particularly touched by the quilt as her son is about to be deployed as a solder to Iraqi.
