Medina Lake Area Outage May 27
Monday, May 28, 2007 2:12pm
Over 5,000 BEC Members in the Medina Lake area experienced a power outage at 2:37 A.M. Sunday, May 27. A protective breaker on a transformer that supplies power to the transmission line in the Medina Lake area opened up during a thunder storm. Crews were able to verify the equipment was operational and they closed the breaker back in, restoring power at 3:51 A.M.

BEC's on-call crews were very busy over the weekend as there were numerous other scattered outages due to the storms in the area. However, the Medina Lake area outage involved the most Members. BEC called in additional staff to help manage the rash of storm related outages.
