Below is a list of Members who have unclaimed capital credits at Bandera Electric Cooperative as of 3/21/2012.  If your name or the name of a deceased family member is on the list, please contact the cooperative at 1-866-226-3372. 

Unclaimed Capital Credits

Capital credits represent your ownership equity in the system as a Members.  Basically, it is money you "loan" the cooperative to operate on, much like when you buy stock in a private company.  When more funds are generated than are needed to operate, funds are returned in the form of capital credits.  Since inception, over $13.6 million has been returned to Members in the form of capital credits. 

When retired capital credits remain unclaimed for three years, they are escheated to the State of Texas.  The state can then allocate a portion of these funds back to BEC to be used for energy-efficiency programs, economic development or scholarships that benefit our Members and the communities to which they belong.
