Welcome to Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC). BEC is a Touchstone Energy Cooperative whose power is primarily supplied by the Lower Colorado River Authority. By becoming a member, you have also become part owner of a private, independent electric utility distributing electricity to over 31,890 meters in 7 counties. We serve 22,783 members with over 4,434 miles of lines. Bandera Electric was created in 1938 to provide our area with reliable and affordable power and operates by the Seven Cooperative Principles.

Cooperatives are locally owned and operated by the members they serve. They are democratically governed by a Board of Directors elected by the members themselves to represent their voice in the business of the cooperative. The board ensures the cooperative is legally and ethically run according to its by-laws and Code of Ethics.
